Article Processing Charges & Waivers
The Journal of Information, Security and Data Science (JISDS) follows a Gold Open Access publishing model. The journal publishes its author-facing charges and waiver conditions transparently so that authors can review the applicable costs before submission and payment.
1. Current Article Processing Charge
- Authors based in India: INR 3,000.
- Authors based outside India: USD 50.
- Manuscript submission fee: Nil.
The current JISDS Article Processing Charge (APC) supports the journal's open-access publication services. Current fee information is also stated in Journal Insights and the Open Access Policy.
2. When the APC Is Charged
The APC is payable only after a manuscript has been accepted following editorial assessment and peer review. Authors are not required to pay an APC for manuscripts that are rejected. JISDS does not charge a manuscript submission fee.
Authors must not make payment before receiving an official acceptance communication and APC request from the journal. The current submission procedure is described on the Submit Manuscript page.
3. Fee Waivers and Discounts
JISDS provides a 50% APC discount for corresponding authors from Research4Life Group A countries, subject to the current Research4Life eligibility classification at the time of submission. Eligibility is determined against the current Research4Life eligibility criteria before payment.
4. Other Charges
JISDS does not charge authors additional editorial processing, language editing, colour, submission, page, membership, or other supplementary author-facing fees beyond the applicable APC described in this policy.
5. Refund of Article Processing Charges
The Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI) grants an APC refund only in the following circumstances:
- An error attributable to the publisher prevents publication of an accepted manuscript.
- Multiple APC payments are mistakenly made for the same manuscript.
Refunds are normally not issued when:
- An author withdraws the manuscript after APC payment and publication processing has commenced.
- An article is retracted because of plagiarism, copyright infringement, data fabrication, research misconduct, or another author-related breach of publication ethics.
Approved refunds are normally processed within 14 days, subject to payment-provider and banking processing times.
6. Editorial Independence
Payment, waiver, discount, or refund status does not influence editorial assessment, peer review, manuscript acceptance, or publication decisions. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit and remain independent of APC payments. The journal's financial arrangements are described in its Revenue Sources Statement.
7. Open Access and Licensing
Published JISDS articles are made immediately and permanently available online under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). Copyright and author reuse conditions are explained in the Copyright & Licensing Policy and the Author Declaration and Copyright Transfer Agreement.
